2017 Events Calendar

26 February 2017 - Visit to Pickers & Collectors Bazaar - 10 Blamey Place, O’Connor.

We kick of 2017 with a drive to see this wonderful warehouse full of millions of fascinating collectable items from many vendors. Meet at 2.00pm at the riverside intersection of The Strand and Ardross St, Applecross. We’ll have a simple, short route set for the drive or ride to our destination. They’re providing afternoon tea. An event ladies will enjoy as much as their menfolk. https://www.facebook.com/pickersandcollectorsbazaar/

What an excellent start to the year! Paul Blank organised a brief drive along the route of the 1940 Patriotic Grand Prix through Applecross. Who knew there was a Grand Prix in Applecross? You can read all about it here - http://www.speedwayandroadracehistory.com/perth-applecross-patriotic-grand-prix.html It was terrific turnout too, with Peter O and John W in their Renault 750s, Stef's Alpine A110, the Blank's in their new Citroen DS20, Darrell and Sue in their Ford Mustang (a newcomer to SIVA events), Mark and Heidi in their beautiful Chevrolet Corvair, and Walter attending in his Jaguar XK150S. The Schelfhouts, Gordines and Long's also attended in modern cars.

Sunday 26 April - German Car Day

This year, the event takes on a new format, with the focus on the gathering and display, forgoing the convoy drive of previous years. The metropolitan location for this year means we expect to see an even larger gathering of cars. We're getting excited!

For participants, the gates will be open from 8:00 am and all vehicles are to be in place by 10:00 am. Cost of entry is $10 per car, with all proceeds going to our chosen charity, Wheels For Hope. Cars are encouraged to stay in place until 2:00 pm. General admittance for spectators will be from 10:30 am and there is no cost involved, however we encourage you to make a donation to Wheels For Hope.
